Reviews
- I can’t say I’m happy with the way this album sounded. Compare to my other Crow records this sounded tinny.
- My pressing plays great. Clear, flat, can hear all instruments clearly. If you have a good system with a decent turn table and speakers you will get the full experience. Glad I invested in the 2015 reissues, with both the first 2 LPs also sounding great. They both came in cheap paper sleeves, this on the other hand came in rice paper sleeves which makes the difference, I.e. no scuffs, no paper left on record!!
- This album does sound good. I did not find Chris' vocals to be "scratchy," but clear as a bell. The higher end (ie, cymbals and hi-hat) are not the clearest things in the mix, but what record is perfect? I've been collecting records for forty years, and back in the day (yes, "ok boomer" coming my way, I'm sure) no one I ever knew ever went around talking about how one pressing was awful -- we listened for the music.
In the end, the music is great on here (minus one weak track); the vinyl is flat and pristine black; and there were no skips or pops (not that the latter bothers me because vinyl is not supposed to be this perfect listening experience). - I think this album sounds very good, not great, but I’d give it a very solid 7.5/10. Both my records have a slight warp but they play fine.
