Special: Nostalgia (no-stal'je,ne-) n. A longing for things, persons or situations that are not present. From the Greek, nostos, a return, and alga, ache.
The following is a program of things, persons or situations that existed from 1948 to 1960. There are two viewpoints stated heron; that which comes from sitting in front of the television watching Howdy Doody, and that which comes from sitting in the kitchen listening to the radio. Sometimes our thoughts drifted from one medium to the other. We present both viewpoints. These are both situations as they actually occurred. So, sit down now and put yourself back in the situation that was yours during that period and return to these things, persons or situations that are no longer present!

Reviews
- As the surreal cover suggests [Richard Timerio's artwork promotes a series of prominent figures (and Dodgers® logo) in Howdy Doody's reflective head] this LP is more than it appears to be. Well researched and organized public domain aural quotes juxtaposed with random chronologically timed bits from the Howdy Doody Show this is a strange trip through the 1950's era. It was aimed primarily at American 'boomers' growing up during that period and coming of age at the time of the release of the LP. It lurches mysteriously between sociopolitical figures and the way in which Howdy, Bob and the gang reassured the Peanut Gallery with frank discussions about treatment of animals and spanking. It almost seemed a shame that while the show was preaching friendliness and openness to children some political leaders were taking the world in the wrong direction. It really is quite an aural documentary and an historical relic.
Take 30-40 minutes out of your day; close the curtains, put on the headphones and cue this up. You might be surprised.
PS. Having the insert helps.
