Reviews
- This record reflects the trumpeter Erik Truffaz debut, that is to say the period from before the release of Out Of A Dream, prior to his induction in the team Blue Note. Here, are no drum'n'bass, MC rapping on or syncopated rhymes. If the major influence is already Miles Davis, it is not yet one, electrified, from the late-60's and-70's but that of the period of the second quintet (Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams ). In this game, his companions are perfect. Besides, the rhythmic pair formed Marcello Giuliani and Marc Erbetta continue thereafter booster which will be transformed into electro-jazz. Besides Pierre-Luc Vallette piano, note the presence of a saxophonist who experience starred with Truffaz: Swiss, Maurice Magnoni. To discover the beginnings of one of the pillars of the Blue Note Europe.
- Personnel:
Maurice Magnoni, tenor sax
Erik Truffaz, trumpet
Pierre-Luc Vallette, piano
