Reviews
- 02/09/2012 - PUTRID DYSENTERY 'ZINE special review :
CONSTANT VULSE : "Hedonic sleepwalkers"
Here is the first release of this young german grind band. Constant Vulse was formed in december 2011, then they started in may 2012 to play live. I saw them 2 times on stage and it was a very good discovery for me, i was really surprised for a band which started just some month ago. They recorded this EP in august 2012 and it will be released soon on Cd and tape.
This little introduction is necessary i think, because when a young band produce such a good first release, it deserves to be know and followed.
So on “Hedonic sleepwalkers” you’ll find 11 tracks of raging grindcore with a good sound. The songs are fast most of the time with some slow, death parts, energic and hyperspeed blast beats, fast thrashing guitar riffs and a main growling vocal with sometimes some screaming parts here and there. Without comparing them to this great old band, Constant Vulse reminds me sometimes of the style of Mule Skinner, with the mix of grinding and slow parts and the vocals which is deep and powerful.
This first recording is original and very good and I really want to see how will be their future releases.
