Recent dollar bin find that turns out to be surprisingly good. It's psychedelic progressive rock but it covers a lot of ground with definite foray's into the realm of spaghetti western film soundtrack themes . there are tracks which blend acoustic and elecctric with some twangy surf reverb guitars, while others float away in lush orchstral arragements. The production quality is top notch all the way. On a scale of 5, I would rate this album a solid 4.

Recorded over the span of four years inside studios, warehouses, and churches throughout Chicago, DARK CANYON is a reverent exploration of the iconic sounds of Spaghetti Western film music. Soaked in spring reverb, haunting baritone guitars, vibrant horns, lush strings, and Marxophone flourishes, the record blends well-honed analog recording techniques and vintage studio equipment with expert production. The result is a vast, inventive homage to the grainy landscapes of the wild west colored with a contemporary flair.
