"Cover design and some of the photographs for A GREAT SET by Hipgnosis. Ho hum. The rest of the photos were taken by a whole shitload of different people."
Contains the entire show (in a different configuration) except for the final performance of "Careful with that Axe, Eugene", played as the final encore. A majority of the show comes from a soundboard recording produced by Bill Graham, beginning eight minutes into Pigs (Three Different Ones) and abruptly ending in the middle of "Us and Them". The remaining portions of the set is the audience recording by Reindhardt Hollwein.

Side B: 19:33

- Personally I have a soundboard recording of Nick Cave and the Birthday Party approximately his third gig, but wouldn't release it because it took him about twenty-five more years to learn how to play and write songs. I have PINK FLOYD A Great Set Live at The Oakland Coliseum 3 LP Set, in MINT CONDITION - as well and it is very RARE. Great artwork, as well. Can offer it for $95 Aussie dollars which is approx 30% cheaper than US dollars.
- I've had this 3 record set since new. I'm still trying to figure out how that rumor about "a majority of the show comes from a soundboard recording produced by Bill Graham" got started, because there should be a glaring edit somewhere and there isn't. I think you can safely assume that this entire recording was made by Reindhardt Hollwein, from the audience. No soundboard here at all.
- Recording sounds like complete crap and not speed corrected, vocals are awful, but what a performance! I was so excited to get this boot when I was high school, and I totally spent a month’s worth of lunch money on it, but I felt like this is what the Floyd was really about. Lots of tape hiss and crowd noise, but definitely listenable. Strangely reverses rare end solo of Pigs on the Wing 2 at fade out (maybe to make up for tape cut off?). Sounds like History.
- Does this record play out of order to fit on the 3lps? The track lists are different on the cd versions, etc.
