Reviews
- Do not be fooled by the album title. These are not the original Chess recordings but are instead remakes of Berry's hit recordings with Chess. Not bad but still not as good as the originals. For completists only.
This is a sorry collection of Chuck Berry songs. Mercury must have wanted Berry to have his hits on their label. This is an album of remakes, and they lack the power of the original recordings. I'm a true Berry fanatic, and I have no use for this. Glad I picked it up for a buck at a thrift store. (Still feel cheated.)
