Reviews
- METAPHOBIC from Atlanta practices ferocious and kicking death metal in a quite "evil" yet semi modern manner.
Even though the opening tune crucifies your consciousness with quite blasting intensity, the following shows other influences to be a bit more 90's or elder (Even if not totally old school), or technical and a bit more varied.
While listening, I thought a porridge composed of the following names wouldn't make a too bad description: MONSTROSITY, old (Or mid old) HATE ETERNAL, a bit of old DEICIDE, perhaps some old ALTAR (Hol), some SUFFOCATION ("Blood oath" perhaps), these mixed with some more "modern" bands you perhaps know better than me.
Something in the style and production reminds me the last MORBID ANGEL album ('Kingdoms..."), but it sounds better! (Ah... It seems Trey failed again, unfortunately...)
On the Bandcamp description, the label said METAPHOBIC's music was destined to fans of Monstrosity, Demilich, Faceless burial, early Gorguts... Concerning the DEMILICH quote I agree for the vocals, but the music is different, not as technical and weird... Here it's rather 'Straight to the point" with some technical and quite "modern" elements imbricated (Touches of later GORGUTS or perhaps a bit of old ULCERATE could fit for this I believe).
Well that's it. This demo sounds quite compact and is a quite well packaged piece of controlled hatred.
