- Edited 2 months agoI thought this record sounded good. Until I got an original press. Holy shit does the original blow this one away. Definitely worth paying $150 over $30 for this one. I could never tell that there was a basitar being played. In the original you can actually hear it. It’s mind blowing. You haven’t heard this record on vinyl until you hear an original
- My copy was warped so bad it was bowl-shaped. I'm sure it sounds fine...if my stylus wouldn't bottom-out during playback.
- Compared to the green Kickstarter vinyl (which unfortunately got stolen from me recently :( ), this doesn't sound nearly as good. Maybe my memories are clouded from finally owning it 2 years ago, but this black vinyl definitely doesn't sound as good as it. While both are sourced from the CD master, this one feels very held back in its presentation, mainly with the almost non-existent dynamics. Everything sounds so... flat. However, it's by far the most affordable copy of this album on vinyl, so I'm fine with my purchase. (7.5)
- Just bought this as a play copy to keep the heat off my 1995 original (Bill Clinton cover on white vinyl), which gets a regular spin as this album is one of the all time classics in my book. If what I read is true, that this was remastered from CD, then fair go, it's not bad considering. It can't hold a candle to my 1995 copy of course, which I can attest is thoroughly amazing, but this one is still free of distortion, sibilance and the bass isn't too washed out. Nice quiet wax too. No pops or crackling that could be easily heard. I still wish they'd just repress or remaster from a tape like you're supposed to though. This album deserves not to be f****d with.
- Well, sound is just ok. Sourced from cd as ive been told. So, dont expect to be blown away by the sound. No insert, no nothing and still such a high price for this? Thinking to sell this and keep my original cd...
- This is a fantastic pressing - functionally perfect. And I'm picky. The background is dead silent, and there isn't a pop or click to be heard. I highly, highly recommend this. Nothing fancy with the packaging, etc. which is fine by me.
- effin’ A.. can’t be for sure it’s Nail City Records’ fault (although i’ve heard nothing but bad thing about them), but the “sealed” copy i got from them has scuffs and scratches all over. there’s somehow only a bit of mild surface noise here and there despite it all though. pretty great sounding record. nice and flat, centered press, with excellent dynamics. 5/5
