Reviews
- Nothing really to add to the previous reviews. Just wanted to chime in with my agreement that it’s a fantastic remaster and pressing. Mine has a little crackle on the lead-in shoulder of each side but that’s about the extent of it. I got mine at Amazon for $22.
- I bought this based on the 2 great reviews and I have to say they both nailed it. This is an amazing reissue. I put this on and cranked up the volume and the music just filled the room. I was worried it would be too compressed or loud, but it feels like the remastering brought it to life. The original 80s album actually sounds thin in comparison. I'll pick up the self-titled release as well. Can get them for really good deals if you shop around. I paid $11 for this one - new!
- Excellent reissue! Full, spacious sound with a nice driving low end. The drums are insane! They have a really BIG sound! Great separation and balance. Nice detail too, I can hear the synth parts clearly. The clarity is exceptional. Vocals sound rich and sit in the mix nicely. I'm really enjoying the grand sound on this reissue. It's a nice 180g pressing, plays flat and quiet, no surface noise at all and you can really turn this up if you want to. I have no complaints soundwise, easily a 10/10. My one complaint is that the laminated inner sleeve marked up the vinyl surface pretty badly, even caused some small scratches. I hate to see that on brand new records but still I would buy this for the price you are getting more than stellar sonics.
- Edited 6 years agoI would have to say that this is truly a remastered vinyl, not that the original is badly produced and needed to be remastered but it is a quiet album compared to Billy Idol or Whiplash Smile, plus this release makes it more available to a modern audience without sacrificing quality! This 2017 vinyl is superb, the highs are not as high as the original pressing but they still sound sharp! It seems to have been remastered on the low end because the bass has real depth to it! Billy’s voice comes through perfectly! As far as my copy goes there are no ticks, pops or areas of excessive static, this album is clear sounding all the way through! I highly recommend this album if you do not already own an original pressing, just stay away from the early club pressings because they are quite dull sounding!
