Jewish-American actor (born August 22, 1875 in Gura Humora, Bukovina, Austria Hungary [now Gura Humorului, Romania] - died January 25, 1952 in New York, NY, USA)

Silberbush emigrated to the United States in 1906, hired by Sam Agid for his vaudeville stage. He then worked on Yiddish stages in Baltimore, Chicago (where he appears in the 1910 Census), and New York City. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in Brooklyn, NY in 1922, which may be when he changed his name to Sam Silverbush.

Between 1914 and 1928, Silberbush recorded widely for Columbia (1914-1921), Brunswick (1921 and 1928), Edison (1921-1928), Okeh (1922-1923), Emerson Records (2), and Pathé. On records, he appears variously as Sam Silberbush and Sam Silverbush.
