Wellville

Profile:

Wellville was a band from Orlando, FL started in the mid 1990s by singer/songwriter Liz Larizza (Kazyk). Liz had previously been a member of the seminal Orlando band 'The Beat Me Ups' (with Steve Bury, later of the band 'My Friend Steve') and after that bands break up received interest from Producers wanting to develop a solo project. This led to the formation of Wellville as a band with future husband David Kazyk on Bass Guitar. The lineup of the project changed many times but the core of Liz Larizza backed up by David Kazyk remained. Wellville developed a very loyal following in the Southeast (US) and performed continuously for about six years. Perhaps the band's biggest claim to fame was their association with several major network television shows and feature films. Hollywood's interest in the band began when a manager began to circulate Wellville's ‘Happier Girl' Album around the LA film/TV scene. This led to writing/licensing opportunities with SONY Music, ABC, The WB and others. At the time, it was unusual if not unprecedented for an unsigned band to have such success in television/film, a position dominated my label artists with major financial support. The song 'Happier Girl' on the Album of the same name was produced by Paul Doucette of the band Matchbox 20. Current contact email: [email protected]
