Rise of the Speedmen began as a one-man stage show by Gene Padigos, with electronic prerecorded music accompanied live by various instruments, from guitar to synth, bass, and drums. In 2008 Padigos recruited bassist Nick Shingle and drummer Rea from punk band Fifty On Their Heels to join him.
