Elji Beatzkilla

French-Cape Verdean rapper, singer, producer and composer, born in Nice, France to Cape Verdean parents from the islands of Boa Vista and Sal, based in East Providence, Rhode Island, United States of America, performing with lyrics in Cape Verdean Creole.

Born and raised in Nice, where his musical career began as a hip-hop dancer before discovering his voice, it wasn't until he was 13 that he returned to the Cape Verde Islands. Relocating to the United States, Elji performs over various styles of music ranging from hip-hop, r&b, zouk, kizomba and funaná. He is known for being a controversial figure, having stirred up a fuss at the 2015 Cape Verdean Music Awards.
