Tallinn String Quartet was established in 1984 and it has become the only continuously working chamber group with such a long career in Estonian music life.
At the beginning, Tallinn String Quartet consisted of Urmas Vulp (violin), Toomas Nestor (violin), Andrus Järvi (viola) and Teet Järvi (cello). Over the years, different musicians have played in Tallinn String Quartet, such as viola players Viljar Kuusk, Martti Mägi, Heili Eespere and cellist Henry-David Varema. Violinist Olga Voronova has played in this quartet since 2000 and Levi-Danel Mägila joined them in 2006.
