Thomas Malory

Profile:

Sir Thomas Malory (ca. 1393/1425 — post 1470) was an English writer, best known as the author of Le Morte d'Arthur, an iconic novel now considered among the classics of Arthurian literature. The first widespread edition of "Le Morte d'Arthur" was published by the first London printer William Caxton in 1485. Malory's biography is largely mystified, and his true identity hasn't been confirmed, with three most probable candidates proposed by researchers since the XVI century:

Sir Thomas Malory of Newbold Revel (ca. 1393?/1415 — 14 March 1471, London)
Thomas Malory of Papworth St. Agnes (6 December 1425, Shropshire — ca. September 1469, Huntingdonshire)
Thomas Malory of Hutton Conyers (ca. 1425–35, Yorkshire — 147?)
