Herringtown Jazzband

Dutch Dixieland and trad jazz band.

Formed in 1977 in Enkhuizen, Holland (he coat of arms of Enkhuizen contains three crowned herrings to indicate that the city lived for a large part from fishing which gives rise to the band's name) by six musical friends.

This 6-strong formation with has performed at home and abroad, including a performance in the Soviet Union, a concert in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Georgia, and with an extensive interview for Russian television, as well as performances in Germany, England and Spain.

In the Netherlands, the band has many performances at Jazz festivals and is a much sought-after band.

The only original member is Rob Van Begren, though the original line up performs from time to time.
