Memphis Jackson

Real Name:Lavel Jackson
Profile:

Currently signed to the lucrative music label “Shoals Music Group,” Memphis Jackson (Lavel Jackson) is a gifted and unique artist whose distinctive style in the genres of R&B, Southern Soul, and Gospel has elevated him to some of the highest venues for over 30+ years of his music career.

An artist, writer, and music producer hailing from Saginaw, Michigan, the prodigy started his career singing with several bands and groups. However, his breakthrough came forth as he performed together with the B.A.D band. While at B.A.D band, Memphis was the lead vocalist for the band all through the 80s and in the early 90s. With his seamlessly amazing vocals, he led the band at a couple of opening act performances with many major recording artists during that era. B.A.D band released two successful singles; Stay Awhile (1986) and All I Want Is You (1988), and on both, Memphis featured as the lead singer and co-writer.

As a powerful and versatile artist with a discography that has material recognized nationally, Memphis Jackson’s music has been featured in several television shows in the past years, including Family Matters, Sister Sister, Dangerous Minds, and on many other nationally released albums. His artistry has for long been compared to the stylish sounds of Ron Isley, Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, and many of the Soul and R&B singers from the past.
At present, Memphis Jackson is touring with The Dramatics featuring LJ Reynolds and The Detroit Emeralds. He also occasionally does shows with The Temptations Review featuring Bernard Gibson.
